About this model
A small oval painting in a deep red-brown wooden frame, showing a muted monochrome scene, perhaps a ship or building. It looks like a sentimental keepsake. The frame is about 1.5 ft wide and 1.5 ft tall, almost flat.
Hang it in a bedroom, a captain's cabin, a widow's parlour or a family chapel. Small framed pictures make spaces personal. The image can reveal a family tie, a lost ship or a place the players will need to visit, and the frame might hide a lock of hair or a folded note.
Ideas for the table
- The ship in the oval painting is the same vessel the party saw sinking in a vision.
- A folded love letter is tucked behind the canvas, naming the true father of the heir.
- The old sailor weeps when he sees the painting and finally tells the party about the wreck.
