About this model
A tall rectangular panel with a thin dark frame and a black, featureless surface, more like a covered canvas or a slab of dark glass. It is about 2 ft wide and 3 ft tall, flat against a wall.
Use it wherever a picture is needed but the image should stay hidden: a covered portrait in a mourning household, a dark mirror in a wizard's tower, or a modern screen in a contemporary or sci-fi set. On the battle map it is pure wall dressing, but it can become the focus of a scene.
Ideas for the table
- Mourners have covered the portrait in black cloth, and the party must uncover it to learn the heir's face.
- The dark panel flickers to life and shows a message from a distant ally.
- A shadow creature lives inside the black canvas and reaches out when the lights go dim.
