About this model
A tall arched door of dark wooden planks bound in black iron straps, with heavy hinges and a studded frame. It is about 7.5 ft wide, half a foot thick and 10 ft tall, filling one and a half squares of wall and towering over a human.
Set it in a castle gatehouse, a cathedral entrance, a keep's great hall or a dungeon vault. A door this heavy says something important lies behind it. It is the classic barrier for a siege or a locked room puzzle, and it gives players clear choices: pick the lock, force it, burn it or find another way.
Ideas for the table
- Rams pound at an iron-bound gate while the party tries to reinforce it from inside.
- A great arched door in a crypt opens only when three names are spoken aloud.
- Behind the cathedral's main door, a choir of cultists has stopped singing and is waiting.
