About this model
A turned wooden candlestick with a bulbous stem and a wide round foot, holding a stubby dark candle. It is about half a foot across and half a foot tall, a small light for a table or windowsill.
Put one on a desk, a bedside table, an altar or a monastery reading stand. Give it a light and it casts a small pool of real shadow, perfect for an intimate scene or a slow, tense search. A single candle in a dark room tells players how little they can see.
Ideas for the table
- A candle on a monk's desk has burned down to a stub, and the ink on his last page is still wet.
- Snuffing the candle on the shrine reveals faint writing glowing on the wall behind it.
- A thief creeps through a bedroom lit only by a single candlestick, trying not to wake the sleeper.
