About this model
A thick, gnarled length of dead wood with a broken stub at one end, its dark bark peeling. It is about 2.5 ft long and half a foot across.
Use it at the base of trees, in swamps and along river banks. It is a small obstacle with no tactical weight, but placing several around a fallen tree or stump makes the scene feel like real woodland. Characters can pick one up as a club or a torch handle in a pinch. It also floats convincingly at the edge of a pond or a swamp, and a handful around a fire pit suggests firewood waiting to be burned.
Ideas for the table
- Out of weapons, the fighter grabs a thick branch from the ground and swings it at the goblin.
- A branch floating in a swamp turns out to be the snout of a lurking crocodile.
- A gnarled branch wrapped in rags makes the only torch for the party's escape through the caves.
