About this model
A thick, heavy fallen trunk with rough, peeling bark and a broken, splintered end. It is about 13.5 ft long and 3.5 ft thick, a big obstacle that covers roughly a three by one square strip.
Place it across a forest path, along a riverbank or in a clearing. It gives solid half cover to anyone crouched behind it, and climbing over it takes effort. Hollow ends make good hiding places for small creatures or for a cache of supplies. It also makes a natural barricade across a narrow trail, one the party must climb over or go around while enemies wait on the far side.
Ideas for the table
- A hollow log hides a goblin with a horn, ready to warn the camp.
- The party crouches behind a massive fallen trunk while a giant stomps past.
- A message in a hollow log is a dead drop between two spies.
