About this model
A low wall of mossy grey stone blocks, 5 ft long, 1 ft thick and 2.5 ft tall, about waist height. The moss and weathering make it look like it has stood in the rain for centuries.
Use it for field boundaries, sheep pens, ruined buildings, castle battlements and graveyard edges. It gives half cover and keeps sight lines open, so it is excellent for skirmishes in the open. Running lines of it across a countryside map makes an English-style patchwork of fields that slows a cavalry charge. Broken runs of it with gaps make a ruined farmstead or hill fort feel convincingly abandoned.
Ideas for the table
- Farmers and the party fight goblin wolf riders across a patchwork of low stone field walls.
- A ruined chapel has only low walls left, and a banshee wails from what was the altar.
- Archers on a castle parapet shoot down at climbers while the party tries to repel the ladders.
