About this model
A solid wall of horizontal wooden planks in weathered grey brown. It is 5 ft wide, 1 ft thick and 7 ft tall, filling one grid edge. The boards are uneven in tone, as if patched over the years with whatever timber was to hand.
Use it for cabins, barns, stables, sheds, shacks and the interiors of ships and inns. Wooden walls make a building feel rustic and lightly built, and they are the natural choice for frontier towns and villages. They block sight and movement like any wall, though a DM may let a strong blow or a fire break through.
Ideas for the table
- Orcs set fire to a plank-walled cabin while the party is trapped inside.
- A barbarian smashes through a wooden wall to rescue villagers in the next room.
- Whispers come through the thin plank walls of a boarding house as plotters meet next door.
