About this model
A solid wall section of pale yellow sandstone with a mottled, weathered face. It is 5 ft wide, 1 ft thick and 7 ft tall, filling one grid edge and standing above head height. The mottled surface hides repetition well, so long runs of it still look hand built.
It suits desert towns, southern palaces, sunlit monasteries and tombs cut into warm stone. The light colour brightens interiors and gives a map a dry, sun-baked feel. Like any full wall it blocks movement and sight, so it defines rooms and corridors. Combine with matching doorways, archways, windows and low walls for complete buildings.
Ideas for the table
- Thieves tunnel through a sandstone wall into a merchant prince's counting house.
- A desert monastery's walls are covered in faded paintings that reveal the order's secret when read in sequence.
- The party must defend a sandstone caravanserai from raiders who know where its walls are weakest.
