About this model
A tall castle wall section of rough sandy stone with a narrow arched passage at its base. It is 5 ft wide, 1.5 ft thick and 14 ft tall, fitting one grid edge. The opening is tall and narrow, just wide enough for one or two figures abreast.
Use it as a postern gate, a passage between courtyards or an entrance to a keep. The arch makes a natural choke point. Defenders can hold it with few soldiers. Set it into a curtain wall as a sally port. A gate in your description can close it quickly.
Ideas for the table
- Guards hold the castle archway against an orc warband.
- A portcullis slams down over the arch, trapping the party inside the courtyard.
- A secret postern arch lets the party slip into the castle unseen.
