About this model
A slim square pillar of mossy grey masonry, built from stacked blocks rather than carved from one piece. It is about 1.5 ft on each side and 7 ft tall. The stacked courses and green growth make it look like part of the original building rather than a later repair.
Use it in dungeons, cellars, crypts and ruined halls where stone holds up the ceiling. Several in a grid create a crypt or undercroft with poor sight lines and many places to hide. Each pillar gives cover to whoever stands behind it, which turns a simple room into a tense fight of flanking and ambush.
Ideas for the table
- Ghouls wait behind the pillars of a crypt undercroft and strike as the party lights torches.
- A dungeon chamber's pillars are rigged to collapse if the wrong one is struck.
- The party plays a deadly game of hide and seek with an invisible stalker among mossy pillars.
