About this model
A shelving unit with a black steel frame and five light wooden shelves, the kind found in a workshop, a storeroom or a modern apartment. It is about 3.5 ft wide, a little under 2 ft deep and 7 ft tall, so it fits along one grid edge and stands well above head height.
On a battle map it lines a wall in a warehouse, a garage, a back office or a cluttered lab. Placed in a row it makes aisles that break sight lines and funnel a fight into narrow lanes. A character can duck behind the end of a unit for cover, and a toppled shelf spills its contents across the floor as difficult terrain.
Ideas for the table
- A firefight in a supply depot runs down aisles of steel shelving, each lane a short sight line.
- The thief is hiding on the top shelf of the storeroom, and the guards have not looked up yet.
- Toppling a loaded shelf onto the pursuers buys the party a round to escape.
