About this model
A giant black spider with long hairy legs, a bulbous body marked with lighter bands and a glossy head, standing on a blue-grey base. Its legs spread wide across the ground. The figure covers about 9.5 by 8.5 ft, close to two squares each way, and stands about 5 ft tall.
This monster belongs in webbed forests, caves, ruined towers and the attics of abandoned mansions. Spiders climb, so place them on walls, ceilings or high branches before the fight starts. Webbed areas make sensible difficult terrain, and the restrained condition will see a lot of use on the tokens it catches.
Ideas for the table
- Travellers hang cocooned from the trees along a forest road, and one of them is still alive.
- A giant spider has nested in the bell tower of a village chapel, and the bell rings at night when it moves.
- Drow handlers lead a giant spider on chains through the tunnels, using it to sniff out intruders.
