About this model
A heavy rectangular sarcophagus of rough grey stone blocks with a thick lid, patched with moss and lichen. It is about 3 ft wide, 6 ft long and 3 ft tall, a little over one square long and waist high.
It belongs in crypts, mausoleums, barrows and the tombs of forgotten kings. It is solid cover in a fight and a natural place for something to rise out of. Placed in rows down a burial hall, sarcophagi create narrow lanes and turn every lid into a question for the players.
Ideas for the table
- The lid of a mossy sarcophagus is pushed aside from within as the party enters the crypt.
- A noble family pays the party to retrieve a ring from their ancestor's sarcophagus without waking him.
- Rows of stone coffins hide a smuggler's stash, and the smugglers are coming back tonight.
