About this model
A small mantel clock with a curved wooden case, a round dial behind glass and a polished finish. It looks like a respectable timepiece for a parlour or study. The clock is about 1 ft wide and half a foot tall, sized to sit on a shelf, desk or fireplace.
Place it on a mantelpiece, a writing desk or a shop counter to give a room a settled, domestic feel. A DM can use it to track time pressure during a scene. It can also hide a key or note inside the case, or be the alibi that someone has deliberately set wrong.
Ideas for the table
- The mantel clock has been set back an hour, and the false time is the killer's alibi.
- A tiny key is wound inside the clock's mechanism, and removing it stops the clock forever.
- Every time the clock ticks past the hour, the portraits in the room change expression.
